A dental extraction is the procedure to remove a tooth from your mouth. It is most commonly required if one of the teeth is damaged beyond repair. The most common reasons for tooth extractions include severe tooth decay, infection, advanced gum disease, and blockages/spacing issues.
What to expect
Dr. Cozzi will first administer anesthetic to numb the area and reduce discomfort. During the extraction, you should not feel any pain, rather you should only feel the pressure of the tooth being
removed. This procedure only takes a matter of minutes. A small amount of bleeding may occur after the extraction, therefore a patch of gauze will be placed on the area.
